Condition Report
It has been suggested that the case might be an early replacement - certainly it can't post-date 1842 - however Ramsden's cases are usually mahogany - there's no reason a client couldn't request a more workable case which could be used aboard a ship without causing wear to a fine finish. There is only one telescope space lacking its scope, all the other accessories appear complete. The sextant has a dirty main scale but it is in good readable order and the whole instrument is is good, sharp order.
